Children's Sunday School at Christ Church United Methodist

Children's Sunday School at Christ Church United MethodistChrist Church uses the Rotation Method for our Sunday school children. We have learned that children do not learn to read, write, or tell time by listening to their teacher for an hour. The Rotation Model teaches one Bible story per four week cycle. Each grade visits a different room or "station" during the cycle, experiencing the same story in a different learning style through art and crafts, drama, video, music, cooking, gardening, games/puzzles, history, science and story. The story is repeated each week, so missing one week does not mean missing out on the whole lesson. If there is a fifth week - that is a family worship Sunday.

Our Sunday school children are divided into four age groups. 3-5 yr olds, K – 1st, 2nd – 3rd and 4th & 5th graders. (We also have childcare available for toddlers (room 7) and a nursery (room 6) for our babies). Please bring your child into the sanctuary at 10:30AM.

Our children enjoy the first 10 minutes of each service and then are called forward to listen to a quick story at Children's Moment. They are then released by age groups to their shepherds, who walk them over to the Sunday school classrooms.

(At the 9:00 a.m.service, the children will be released to the adult responsible for Children's Church. The children will go to room 15 and experience Church for children, using stories, scriptures and music.)

WHEN CHILDREN WORSHIP GOD, AMAZING THINGS HAPPEN!!!!

We hope you are having a fun and safe summer.

Sunday Funday is a great time, for ages 0 -99!    We share a potluck lunch and the children play games and we usually have a 'senior' movie or activity for our older adults to enjoy.

Children's Church is still going strong at our 9:00AM service, with Sunday school starting at 10:30AM for grades K-5.   We have a preschool room for ages 3-4, and a nursery available for both services.

Great things are happening at Christ Church.  Please check us out!!!!

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.  Our new email address is marci@christchurchumtucson.org or call the church office at 327-1116 and ask for Marci Hill.

We would love to have your children join us!

Kid's Club

Kid's Club Girl Mascot Kid's Club Boy Mascot

Kids'  Club is for  all children  in kindergarten through 5th  grade.

Kids' Club  is  designed for  children to  build  community and  relationships in an accepting and safe environment.  Respect, kindness, caring, giving, thoughtfulness, inclusion, friendship and fun  are  modeled  during activities.

Most  ideas for our monthly  meetings/activities  are  generated  by the children reflecting  their interests.  We have  hiked, bowled, gardened, cooked, painted.

We have had  trips to  Breakers Water Park, a horse stable, Tucson Museum of  Art  and  more.  We  have at least one  mission project  a year which the  children choose.  Children may  volunteer  to lead devotion and prayers.

Visitors and  friends are always  welcome.
